What a great, hard-fought season by our Tigers! Attending hockey games is very important as an RIT student, and they usually don’t disappoint. Whether or not you’re a fan of hockey, everyone appreciates the hard work these men put in every day. With the men’s hockey season coming to a close, we take a look at these unforgettable top moments.

A Goal that “Defies the Law of Physics”

Before you read on, you need to watch this. Kerins takes a shot on goal and it’s deflected by Brown. The “possessed” puck flies backwards into the net. Click the link in the headline to see the video!

Brown’s Game Winning Goal

With 49 seconds left in the game, Brown finds a breakaway and skates through the defenders to end up with a game-winning goal. RIT defeated Mercyhurst 4-3.

Destler’s Puck Drop

I’m so happy I was lucky enough to witness Destler dropping the puck at the game vs. Air Force on Feb. 17th. The men’s hockey team also presented Destler with lifelong season tickets, which makes sense since he’s certainly their biggest fan. During the game, our video (shared on our Facebook page) titled “Thanks Destler” played on the big screens. It was a great night to be an RIT student!

Senior Night

Senior Tigers this year include Danny Smith, Todd Skirving, Michael Holland, Garrett McMullen, Caleb Cameron, Alex Perron-Fontaine, and Mike Rotolo. We wish them all nothing but luck and success in their future endeavors. Senior night was a meaningful night for these men. Once a Tiger, always a Tiger!

It was a great season and we hope you were able to enjoy a few games! The men’s hockey team always gives it all they have. Go Tigers!
